Listen to this episode

How do conditioned responses and chronic stress run my life, and how do I unlearn them before I break down?

What This Episode Is About

Amy talks with Kathy Baldwin, a crap removal expert, about the conditioned responses and chronic stress that quietly run your life and break down your body. Kathy shares how living out of alignment created adrenal fatigue and a full breakdown, and how she used root-cause thinking and energy work to heal and rebuild her identity by conscious choice. They cover how stress shuts down the prefrontal cortex, why old programming runs like outdated software, and how to have the breakthrough without the breakdown.

We're given everything, every tool, every knowledge. The only thing we weren't given was knowing what it was and how to access it.

What You'll Hear

  • How living too long out of alignment created illness, fatigue, and a total breakdown
  • Why chronic stress shuts down your prefrontal cortex so you make poor decisions without knowing it
  • What CRAP really stands for, from physical excrement to conditioned automatic programming
  • The outdated-software analogy: why you keep running old programs that no longer serve you
  • How to have the breakthrough without the breakdown by making a deliberate choice sooner

In this episode, we’re diving deep with Kathy Baldwin—the C.R.A.P. removal expert helping visionary women unlearn the patterns, beliefs, and burnout behaviors keeping them stuck at the edge of their potential. Your Invitation

Look honestly at your conditioned responses and ask the one question that matters: is this working for me. If it is, strengthen it, and if it is not, get curious about where it came from so you can release it and start driving your own life.

When you are ready to see your own patterns clearly and move differently, the Mirror is where that work begins.

Questions This Episode Answers

What does CRAP stand for in unlearn the crap?
Kathy describes it as multidimensional: it is the physical waste the body needs to release, and it is also conditioned responses and automatic programming, the neurobiology of how your brain filters information and runs old patterns. Both kinds create disease and keep you stuck.
How does chronic stress affect the brain?
When you live in constant stress, your nervous system shuts down your prefrontal cortex, your voice of reason, so you lose access to rational thinking and make poor decisions without realizing it. Kathy reached a point where she did not even remember how to wash her face.
What is the breakthrough without the breakdown?
It means making a deliberate, conscious choice to do something different before life forces the change on you through a collapse. The breakdown often creates the shift because the choice is taken from us, but you can choose differently at any earlier point.
Why do we keep running old patterns that hurt us?
Because the brain is efficient and automates responses to keep us safe, so if you survived a situation once, your brain thinks the pattern worked and runs it again. It is like never updating your computer, you keep running outdated programs that no longer serve you.
How do you start to unlearn the crap?
It starts with self-knowledge: look at your programs, how they are working, what triggers them, and where they came from. As Kathy puts it, know thyself, do not judge, and trust that you already have everything you need within you.

We're given everything, every tool, every knowledge. The only thing we weren't given was knowing what it was and how to access it. It starts with know thyself. Know who you are.

Don't judge. Instead of deciding that some parts of you are good and some parts of you are bad. Our greatest challenges live on the other side of our zone of genius. Welcome to the Thrive Her podcast.

I'm your host, Amy Sanders. I'm a fitness and wellness pro, mom, stepmom, second wife, and master certified lifesaver. Coach. I'm here to help you manage your mind so you can uncover the most potent version of yourself and create a thriving life you love.

Welcome, welcome back to the Thrive Her podcast. I'm your host, Amy Sanders. I am so excited that you are here tuning in. Thank you for tuning in.

And I am excited about what we're going to talk about today because we're ultimately talking about crap. Okay, maybe not crap specifically, but the crap that is in your life that has kept you essentially held hostage because, you know, it keeps you weighted down. And I have brought an awesome lady with me today. So Kathy Baldwin is someone who I've had just the opportunity for the last number of months to be in this amazing community, the Thrive, or the Women Thrive.

I always get it confused. I'm confused with my own brand, but it's called the Women Thrive Summit that we're a part of. Anyway, so I got to know Kathy. She is so radiant.

She has so much energy and she stands all about unlearning the crap. She calls herself a crap removal expert, which is just really great. I love it. And she has a proven system that's rooted in not just universal laws, but also her personal wisdom.

And she's a visionary woman who has. Achieved her own breakthroughs and she teaches you how to do the same. I am so excited to welcome Kathy to our podcast and to hear more about how to unlearn all of the crap that we have been conditioned to live under, which just creates more crap in our lives. So welcome.

Welcome. Tell us a little more about you, Kathy. Amy, I'm so excited to be here and have this conversation with you because you're right. There are so many.

There are so many crap things in our way. And especially when we are trying to step into the best version of ourselves, become entrepreneurial. We were talking earlier about how it is not the easy road to be an entrepreneur, but if that's who we authentically are, then we don't need any additional roadblocks in our way. And so that's what I do is I help remove those roadblocks.

I love it. So you were in corporate for a long time and now you are coaching women. So tell me, how did you come to where you're at now, having that type of background and just the method of unlearn the crap? Give me all.

Well, sure, sure. But I've always been coaching women. I was in corporate sales and marketing and operations. So I was always developing sales teams to be there.

Best versions of themselves, not realizing that when you're developing a team and you're creating these massive goals of 25, 50% growth, that there is a large element to that in coaching. And so that was what I was doing for so many years. But on a personal note, I've always felt the calling to be an entrepreneur. And so I was always trying something new.

Whether it was in direct sales or ideas that I had. So that was always a part of me. What happened, though, was I was living too long out of alignment with who I am. And I was creating massive adrenal fatigue, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis.

I needed both knees replaced. I was living in constant, never-ending pain. And just exhaustion. And I just kept pushing.

I called myself too strong for too long. And eventually, humpty-dumpty broke. And the systems that we had in our medical, our education, our workplace, they failed me. And I had to figure it out by myself, not only how to heal, but then realize that what I was doing was creating.

I was creating that environment that took me down and out. And so I needed to recreate a new environment. And so I learned so much. And that became my purpose and what my vision and my reason for being is to help other people learn how to have the breakthrough without the breakdown.

Without the breakdown. Because that breakdown is what actually makes us make that massive shift, right? Yes. Because the choice is taken from us.

But what if we chose at any other point and said, you know what? This isn't working for me. I need to do something different. And we make a conscious, deliberate choice for something different.

That's how we have the breakthrough without the breakdown. I also, I'm a huge believer that the body keeps. There's a really amazing book about it. If you have not read it, you all should go read the body keeps score.

It's very long and it's very detailed and it's very scientific, but it's also like just so real. So you talk about how like you were out of alignment and all of a sudden your body started freaking out. Maybe not all of a sudden it was like over time, right? But your body started freaking out in all these different ways.

So how did you connect the dots saying, wait, maybe this isn't. Because a lot of times when your body's freaking out, oh, I guess I just need to take a break from this or something, but we're not actually looking to how it's connected to your emotions and how it's connected to being out of alignment. So how did you figure that out? When I had my breakdown and I literally had to choose life and death, I had to realize that the medical system was giving me what I call pills and platitudes.

Society was telling me to just show up and. Put up with whatever was going on. I was playing roles and wearing masks and trying to be everything to everybody. So what I had to do and thank God, my breakdown gave me the opportunity where I had nothing and nobody but myself.

It was the greatest gift because in that environment, I no longer had to take care of everything and everybody else. There was just me. And so in that isolated Petri dish that I was in, I went to root cause as a business person. I used to study root cause corrective action and create policies and procedures so that we could always get better as a business person.

I learned how to build a successful business by creating the structure and the plan and the values and the mission and all of these things. So I thought, if I can do this for a business, can I do it for me? And corrective action, all of the ISO methodologies, and I started analyzing myself working backwards, then I used corrective action to, to heal and release. I learned energy healing so that I could release the root causes.

I went through a systematic way of defining and creating who I am by making conscious choices. Okay. This is who you've always been. This is what you've always done that that didn't work.

Really obvious. It didn't work. Yeah. So I started to say, who do I want to be?

Who do I feel like being, who am I going to be proud of what, where am I going to live easily where everything doesn't feel like I'm pushing a wet rope up a hill. Yeah. Essentially. It sounds like you were doing what a lot of us have done and then we stop by essentially living in that masculinity energy too, like doing go harder, push harder, faster.

Don't stop. Oh yeah. And that doesn't work long-term for, I don't think, I don't know that there's any women that looks that will work long-term for, cause we're not wired that way. We can use part of it, but to just stay in that, it doesn't really.

Yeah. Ever serve us. No, I was born in 1965. So I was the first Gen X that, that OG.

And in that time we went from the traditional roles of women, the forties and the fifties. So women were starting to get empowerment. We had for the very first time in the early seventies or the late seventies, sorry. Women were allowed to have their own bank accounts and their own credit cards with out a male signature.

And we went into fast technology changes with cell phones and computers, and we went into quantum computing and we went into satellite dishes and things just sped up. The roles of male and female were changing in the workplace and in the families. So I was going through this constant societal change and trying to keep up and trying to always fit in. Yeah.

And that I think there's so many in my age group that were in that perfect storm. Yeah. I actually haven't thought about that before. I mean, I've thought about my age group.

I'm 1980, I'm 1980. I was born on the decade, which I actually love because I always remember, I always know how old I am. I'm like, if it's a four, I'm 44 if it's anyway, but yeah, that was already pushing along. But I came along, but even still, we still have a lot of those narratives and cultural beliefs and things that we're trying to rise above and stand in our power as women.

So as you went down this journey with your self-discovery and you said that you were the only one that was left, it was just you. Yeah. So tell me more about that. You did not have family around, what was going on and what was it that made you think, okay, something's got to give, I know you've to us a little bit about that, but I just want to hear even more like what that was like.

It was right after COVID, which I think was a breaking point for a lot of things and a lot of people. My body finally broke down. I had, I went into full blown depression. I wasn't able to function.

I had to go on sick leave. At that time, my relationship broke down. So I lost my home and my relationship. When all of this was happening, my family and friends went their own way.

I believe that the universe was clearing the slate for me and because I was an over giver and I took on everybody else's problems and everybody else's responsibilities and in order for me to heal. I literally had to lose everything, but there was more than that. It was also not knowing that when we're highly stressed, that our central nervous system shuts down our prefrontal cortex. When our prefrontal cortex shut down, we no longer have access to rational thinking logic or anything like that.

And so I was making a whole series of bad decisions. Okay. I had to go nowhere. So now I had to realize that I was normal.

Now that's crazy because we believe the thoughts that our brain says. And one of my big epiphany moments was staring in the bathroom mirror and going, I'm supposed to know how to wash my face. I know I've washed my face before, but I don't remember how to do that right now. Wow.

Yeah. that part of my brain was a major, oh my God, you're walking around pretending to the world that you are fine. You are trying to show up like you always have in control and making decisions. I was making massive financial decisions that had implications that were major serious decisions that nobody in their right mind should have been making.

But I didn't know that my brain had been hijacked because of chronic stress for so long. Yeah. Thank you for sharing. I know that's a lot to share, but I wanted to dive a little bit deeper because it paints the picture of where you were.

Yeah. And where you were versus where you're at today, which there's a big gap, right? Like you've come a really long way. And I love to show anyone that's listening that it doesn't matter where you are.

Your journey's not done. You're still writing your story and you get to make those decisions for you. And sometimes it does take you collapsing all the way down and everything implodes, but you can catch it faster, which is what you talk about. So can we, or can you tell us what unlearned the craft is?

So CRAB stands for something, right? C-R-A-B. Yeah. CRAB is multidimensional.

It is physical excrement that our body needs to get rid of. And that happens through our lymphatic system and our digestive system. And we can create sickness by suppressing that, by trying to control them. That was part of how I got sick is I believed all sorts of crazy things.

And I was literally going, against my physical body. And that was creating disease. But it's also conditioned responses and automatic programming. It is the neurobiology of how our neurons are fired, how we process information, how our primal brain will take over, and how our reticular activating system and our hippocampus will filter information to skew our perspective.

There's so many biological chemical hormonal things that are happening within our body that are putting crap in the way. And so I like the acronym, but I also want to make sure that people know that creates physical disease. It creates inflammation. We've now proven that almost 100% of disease comes from our digestive system.

So if we are not processing our emotions, our traumas, our stresses, if we're living in constant stress, the very first thing that our brain does when we're in stress is it cuts off non-essential functions. One of them is our digestion, our reproductive system, our prefrontal cortex, as I said. It changes our breathing. It changes our heart rate.

It changes our blood pressure. It changes all of these things. And so when we're living in constant stress, we are creating crap within our body and in our minds and in our lives and in our relationships and everything else. Yeah.

And it doesn't feel good. And for those of you guys who are tuning in, just to get, so she says a lot of like legitimate scientific words. If you don't understand what those are, whenever we talk about the prefrontal cortex, or we talk about our reticular activating system, also the reticular, also that, but hold it. So like our prefrontal cortex is our voice of reason.

It's just, it's the front part of your brain that is a, that actually is finally, geez, now I'm like, and now I'm hanging on my words. It's the one that the teenagers don't really have developed yet, but we, we develop it completely like in our early twenties. So it's like the voice of reason. The other one is our subconscious brain that we do on autopilot.

We're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally, we're not totally aware of what's happening. And then all of the other things that she's saying, like all of this is going on. And when we are like, so when you're in that high stress, that front part of your brain, the prefrontal cortex stops working and it can look like brain fog. It can look like a lot of the things, but when it's not working, that is your voice of reason.

That is your, like when she was saying she didn't remember how to wash her face. Like these things really do happen. And you're so great at explaining it and saying it, but sometimes I'm like, I like layman's terms because even though I understand, cause I'm analogy or not analogy, I'm an anatomy person. But for those of you guys who aren't like, this is really important information.

So explain the rest of it and then we'll dive in deeper. Sure. So our reptilian part of our brain, which is located right at the base of our head, and it is what is directly connected to our spinal cord is all of the automatic, functions, the not thinking it is the part of our brain that keeps us alive. And its main function is, am I safe?

It is constantly scanning for danger. And it's what will flip the switch of your central nervous system and put you into stress or into what's called the parasympathetic nervous system, which is when we're supposed to be living the majority of life. That sympathetic nervous system, is designed to get us out of danger and then reset back. But when we're living in constant stress, we're living in constant, never ending danger, and that never gets shut off.

And that creates a whole host of hormones and chemicals like cortisol that fill our bodies. Do you know that cortisol and stress hormones are what doctors use to suppress our immune system? When we're getting an organ transplant? That's how I did not know this, but it makes sense.

That's how powerful it is. Wow, that it will shut down your immune system. And then the next part of our brain is the limbic system, which is our emotional, because all of our senses, we have actually 122 senses, not just five. And those senses that we have categorized are all connected to our emotions.

And that's how we shut down our immune system. And then the next part of our brain is our emotional, because all of our senses, we have categorized are all connected to our emotions. And the emotion is the trigger that sets off the formula, which is the automatic programming that happens, because we are so efficient, that our body wants us to do as much as humanly possible on auto on autopilot. And so once it creates a system and says, Ah, when we feel this emotion, and we have this circumstance, this is what we do.

Okay, and now you have a formula. And we call that amazing. Right? It's amazing, except for when it doesn't work for you, for your benefit.

It's just doing it in like a way that doesn't work, which you're getting to. So it's amazing that this happens, but also can really destroy us. Absolutely. My question always, is it working for you?

Or is it not? Yeah, it really does not matter what it is, because one set of circumstances could be really empowering for one person and disempowering for another. That's where we have to take the lead. Look at our own condition responses and automatic programming.

Does it work? If it does keep doing it, strengthen it. If it's not working for you, if you're not getting the results you want, that's where we can use all of the other interrelated interconnected systems. But the prefrontal cortex is the front part of our brain.

And I just saw someone explain this in an amazing way. Do you mind if I share? Oh, I would love for you to share so people get it because not everyone studied this way you have, right? So yeah, easy, you understand them better.

Thank God I spent 40 years curious about this because this it was me studying for all this time that made me go okay, now you need to use it to save yourself. Yeah. But if we put your thumb in the middle of your palm, and then push your fingers over, okay, when? Nope.

Put your thumb in out thumb in. Okay. And then on. Okay.

So when your central nervous system hits and you go into distress mode? Have you ever heard the saying, flip your lid? That's what happens. This part of your brain, the prefrontal cortex, the part of our brain that is logic, intelligent, makes sound decisions, is creative, is imaginative, is problem solving.

It gets flipped out of the way. And our emotions, which are here and right at the base, is our safety and keeping us alive. Because this part of our brain doesn't care if we're happy, doesn't care if we're healthy, doesn't care about anything. What it cares about is keeping you alive.

And if you got through a situation, no matter how horrible it was, if you survived, your brain thinks it worked. And it will rinse and repeat. Again, which can be amazing and also work against you. That's where I come in, is I teach.

People, that you can program that yourself. It doesn't need to be automatically programmed. It doesn't need to be what happened to you from a child or what happened through ancestral trauma. So can you tell us a little more about how you do that?

It's self-knowledge. It's looking at your programs. How are they working? What triggers them?

Where did they come from? Are they trapped? Are they trapped in your body that we need to release it? Do you know how your body works so that you can catch the triggers, that you can catch the automatic programming and undo it?

Can you know about the environment that we live in and how we are subject to the universal laws? I love this story. Okay. I'm older than Google.

I think I'm older than Google too, though. When Google first came out, people were paying attention to their maps. There was a case of a woman who drove into a lake because the map told her to keep going. The map was not updated enough to say the road ends here.

You're now going into a body of water. And she put her belief in the map more than what she saw. And she overrode her own intelligence, her own intuition, her own everything, because the map said to keep going. That's how we live.

Until we seize control again. We are letting old programming, outdated, programs, outdated information make decisions for us today. I actually love that analogy. It's not even an analogy.

It's true. But the fact that you can put yourself in that and say, okay, am I letting this old stuff affect me today? Or am I using the new stuff? Because I have a choice.

Yeah. And we constantly upgrade our computers and our phones to make sure they've got the latest technology, the latest information that we're removing. The bugs and the viruses. But we're letting ourselves continue to run on old, outdated systems that aren't serving us, that are making us sick.

Yeah. I actually love that because it gives us an opportunity to what's possible. Yeah. So what else can be possible if I don't run on these systems?

Which reminded me, I was actually on a lady's podcast just yesterday. And when I got on, so I am getting interviewed by her. Who? I can't hear her.

So I get on to her show. I literally cannot hear her. And I was like, I can't hear you. Can you hear me?

And she's, yes. And I'm like, okay, I really cannot hear you. And she was going to hit record anyway. And I'm like, no, I don't.

I really cannot hear you. And she's, oh, okay. So she switched to one microphone, still couldn't hear, switched to another microphone, still couldn't hear her. When she took the microphones out, all of a sudden I could hear her better, but it still wasn't great.

And she said, I had to. to, I had to switch to an old laptop because my new one just died. And she's so I'm working on an old laptop. And she's this laptop is six years old.

And in the world of today, that's an old laptop, six years old. But what you're saying is, we are taking systems and information that even could be dated back like longer than we've been alive in our DNA. It's stuff that's living with us, that we're continually, like staying in this realm of this reality that just is not serving us, but there is a better way, which you have found. So how is your health now?

And how do you like what you do now? Oh, my health is improving, but you don't turn 40 years of stress and generations of trauma around overnight. So my fibromyalgia, I'm often talking about fibromyalgia, but I'm also talking about fibromyalgia. I have all medications, thank God.

I do have flare ups. My body is learning to heal. I'm learning to heal my digestion system. That's why I'm so passionate about our digestion system.

There's millions and millions of microbiome and bacteria in our gut. And they're the first thing to go out of whack when we're in stress, and it creates disease. And so we can all while our cells will constantly replicate. We can't undo that damage overnight.

We are physical beings. My mental health is better than it's ever been. My emotional health is better than it's ever been. I am more aligned and feel more alive and who I am.

The last stage for me is going to the physical because we create everything energetically, and then we create a physical. That part of my body is still in process of healing. Yeah, hopefully I've caught it before I've created too much disease. Hey, you have caught it.

I think you can always, no matter where you are in life, I'm a huge believer that it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how old you can figure it out. And sometimes it just takes more time, especially when we're talking about energetics, right? So when we're talking about energetics, and we make this new decision, essentially, we're vibing at another vibration.

Yes. Sometimes it takes your body and everything else a little time to catch up, even with your business. If you make a new offer, and you're putting out this offer, and it's getting crickets, you might need to fine tune your offer. But it also could be your offer, you've nailed, but now you're calling in a different market, a different group of people.

And it takes energetically, it takes a little bit of time for that to be realized. It takes a little bit of time for the energetics for that, that new tune or radio station that you plugged into for it to work. And that's okay. And so I love that you're like, hopefully it's not too late.

It's not too late. You're figuring it out. And you've already seen so much progress within your body, right? What I'm saying is, eventually, the physical can break down.

And if we leave it too long, the physical can get to a place where it can't be turned around. Things happen. But that's why it's so important to me for everyone to understand ahead of time that we can stop it at any point in time, that you don't have to go to those points of desperation. But what you were talking about, I absolutely love because can I geek out a little bit more?

I know. I love you. I'm a nerd out. Hey, bring it to me.

I graduated in the science on all of the science stuff. I'm all over it. Okay. There is a whole series of experiments that have proven that everything is either energy, or it's a particle, which is either it's either energetic, or it's physical.

And we get to choose because before we get to choose, we get to choose. And we get to choose. Or it becomes anything. It is potential, because it is our consciousness.

And that determines whether it is energetic or a particle. Scientists are starting to discover that big black holes that we're seeing all the over the universe, that those are energetic potential of possibility waiting for consciousness. So now we put consciousness into something. Energetically, it's now been created.

But there is a period of gestation, which is another one of my favorite universal laws, is that there is a time of gestation from the energetic to the physical. And so what you were talking about is so many times people put their expectations of how long it should take. Exactly. And we don't understand that there is a time period between taking it from thought.

From creation, from putting that into motion, into bringing it into the physical. But the law of compensation states that we will be equally compensated for our, what we put into the world, what we bring to the world, we will equally be compensated. So if we understand that when we create, now we have to trust, keep moving, keep using the law of action, knowing that what we put out, we will be compensated for. And so we have to trust, keep moving, keep using the law of action, knowing that what we put out, we will receive.

But we need to remove the expectation of the time and the how. Yeah. And when we do, it gets to be fun. Yeah.

It's fun. And really, so along this line, I'm obsessed with energy mix too. Along this line, and when you're in the energy of excitement too, like what's next? What am I creating?

What am I doing? It feels exciting. Then you're vibing higher, which can decrease the amount of time it takes to get to you. But continually be unattached to how long that takes.

Just know that it's on its way to you. Just keep the faith. Okay. So one last question for you along these lines.

Okay. I love this. I know. It's like my favorite topic because it works with everything.

It works with your relationships. It works with your business. It works with money. It literally works with everything.

It's so freaking exciting. And if you're not doing anything with energetics, and it's science. It's science. We can say it's woo, but it's like kind of bugs me that everyone's, oh, that's woo.

I'm like, sure. Except for it's science. Anyway. Okay.

So my question is going to ask you. Do you mind if I just, can I, you just hit one of my trigger points, this whole woo thing. Okay. Yeah.

We know it works for our MRIs. We know it works for our satellite dishes. We know it works for our cell phones, for our quantum computing. We know it works for our machineries.

Why do we think that we have to choose between them? Okay. I know. are so special that we are not subject to the laws of physics and universal laws as everything else that we have in our lives you know that i have because i completely believe that we are as capable we're more capable than the computers we're more capable than all the things we just have to believe it and we have to stay in that energy we created the computer it came from us i know amazing so like how are we thinking that it's smartness it's not i love it okay so my last question for you before i do have one more after this but my last question around this is okay so you said you were in you're in the workforce for a long time corporate but alongside that you always had this little entrepreneur heart and you're doing all these different things direct marketing you're selling this you're selling that now you've switched it and you're all in on coaching and you're coaching around all this fabulous stuff we've been talking about today how do you feel energetically emotionally all of the things with what you have chosen to do now versus everything that you were doing with how it's working for you where you were at emotionally all of the things how is that difference playing out in your life i wake up and it's not a question of snoozing it's not a question of oh if i oh i'm so exhausted oh i don't have my energy levels are now woohoo let's go and i can work for so many hours because i'm doing what i love everything is coming easier it's like when when you go whitewater rafting and you're through the rapids and you're trying to go against the ocean or the flow of the river and it's so hard and you're paddling and you're being whipped around and you go with the flow now you can enjoy the scenery you're still getting places but you're not working so hard i now wake up and know who i am what i do matters it feels good it feels sexy it feels alive i love it i wanted to just bring it back to that because that's what it's all about you and i have chose coaching and we love it we're very passionate about it both of us but it doesn't it doesn't matter what you choose and it doesn't matter if it's entrepreneurship or if it's anything else what matters is that you feel energized you're excited you have purpose it could be motherhood it could be literally anything as long as you feel alive and your heart feels open and you feel like what you are doing every single day is exciting and you want to get out of bed because that's where life is at that's where you feel fulfilled filled that's where you feel full of joy that's where you feel more love and so i wanted to bring that up kathy because we talked about where you've been in different avenues of where you've been and i wanted to just bring it home to where you are now so before we hop off i know that you and i could talk about all this literally forever i'm sure we could have a whole series of podcasts diving deep into each one of these but if you give because we both love this stuff okay but if you were to give one last little nugget of wisdom to the listeners of how they can like what's the next step to unlearn the crap what would you leave with them before we sign on okay i'm gonna date myself again i always loved the wizard of oz and at the very end when glinda the good witch looks at dorothy she said my dear you've always had it with you within you we have everything that we need within us yeah we were given everything every tool every knowledge the only thing we weren't given was knowing what it was and how to access it it starts with know thyself know who you are don't judge instead of deciding that some parts of you are good and some parts of you are bad our greatest challenges live on the other side of our zone of genius so if you are living in challenge and strife and stress turn around the opposite is where you belong mic drop you're done we're done signing off no i love that though i love that though because we really do we have everything inside of us we just have to access it and we have to believe that it's possible for us the belief is so important and no one else is more capable than anyone else we all have the same capability we might have different talents we might have different geniuses but we're all as capable as one another yeah and we all have a place and we all have a purpose and we all have a special gift and we're all in this together and we're all in this together and we're all in this all needed and we all matter, no matter what part of the gift it is.

The reason I do what I do, Amy, is because I needed to understand. I didn't want to just go on blind faith. I was told about meditations and the law of attraction and all these things, and it just required me to suspend my beliefs and my judgment and just trust that what someone was telling me was true. And I couldn't do that.

When I learned everything that I have within me already, and I could go to my intuition, my gut, my soul, and understand the logic of why it was happening, the physicality of why it was happening, how it was happening. Now, I was driving my own life as easy as I was driving my own car. I love it. All right.
