Letting Go To Level Up

November 26, 2024

Listen to this episode

How do I know when I am out of alignment, and how do I trust myself enough to let go and level up?

What This Episode Is About

Amy talks with holistic practitioner Anna Marie of Happy Whole You about how your thoughts and emotions create a biochemical response in the body, and how unresolved emotional blocks can store as physical symptoms. Anna Marie shares her own story of being overmedicated in her early twenties, then learning to read what the body is telling her, and the question that finally freed her to leave a six-figure dream job: if you are 80 years old, will you regret staying or leaving. The conversation lands on alignment and self-trust, that sickness and stuckness often signal you are out of alignment with what your soul is calling you to do.

We have everything we need to heal ourselves, but we do have to do the work.

  • Anna Marie's story of being put on three mind-altering medications at 22 and finding natural healing
  • Reading the body's feedback instead of making health decisions out of fear
  • The one question that made leaving a six-figure dream job clear
  • Why sickness and stuckness can be signals that you are out of alignment

Questions This Episode Answers

Who is the guest on this episode?
Anna Marie of Happy Whole You, a holistic practitioner who works with biofeedback, energy medicine, and naturopathic approaches, reading the body to help people heal. She also hosts the Happy Whole You podcast.
How do thoughts and emotions affect physical health?
The words you speak and thoughts you have create a biochemical response in the body, literally changing your biochemistry over time. Anna Marie believes physical ailments often compound and store in the body due to emotional blockages that weaken tissue.
How did Anna Marie know it was time to leave her job?
Her body told her first, with hip pain and autoimmune markers showing up while she stayed out of alignment. The decision became clear when she asked herself whether at 80 she would regret staying or leaving, and after she walked, her symptoms improved.
What does it mean to be out of alignment?
When you feel sick or stuck, it can be a signal that you are living against what your soul is actually calling you to do. Anna Marie traces her own illness to staying in a path she chose out of fear and lack rather than what she truly wanted.
How do I make clearer decisions about my health and life?
Take the meaning and emotion out of the decision so you can use your logical brain, then keep your future self in mind. Ask whether the choice is in alignment with who you are becoming, and let it be a simple yes or no.

If you're having issues with your mindset or your health, and you go to any professional, there should be so much listening, and then there should be so many questions. Right. And I think that's what we're missing. We're making decisions on our health based out of fear.

We're not asking enough questions. Our providers are not asking enough questions. And this becomes problematic because we're missing things because we are such complex beings. Welcome to the Thrive Her podcast.

I'm your host, Amy Sanders. I'm your host, Amy Sanders someone introduced us from the podcast world or if it was the algorithms I had no idea all I know is that we got on and we're like oh let's podcast oh and it was all the things wrong and health and wellness and mindset and whatever but you were still you were an entrepreneur while also exiting your job yes you were hanging on to that income because that income was nice I was hanging on tight for 18 years 18 years there's even more than income attached to and it's that right 18 years all the things and so that's really I think we're going to start there let's talk we're going to talk about inset today she's a total genius with this stuff we're also going to talk about like clinging holding on when sometimes it's holding you back all those juicy things so welcome back I'm so happy to have you thank you I'm happy to be here and tell us a little bit more about what you do and we'll just we'll go from there yeah thanks I started happy whole you is my company and I started it as like online and then it morphed into a brick and mortar and then it morphed into four brick and mortars and then now it's back down to one brick and mortar after COVID and it was something I was doing quote-unquote on the side while I had a full-time job and I was like I'm going to do this I'm going to do this I'm going to do this I'm going to do this and it was a couple years ago that I decided to step out of that and step into my purpose into happy whole you ultimately I know everyone wants to be happy and at least this is what I've experienced in my life I used to struggle with depression I went to tons of different doctors they put me on all these different medications and it made me worse so in my early 20s I had to learn very quickly how to work on my mindset how to heal my body from the inside out and I was like I'm going to do this I'm going to do this I'm going to do this I'm going to do this or I was literally on a spiral downhill that was not going to be really good and so I started to look into natural medicine natural health and so that kind of was percolating me to go into this arena I was doing wellness around fitness and nutrition and it wasn't until I started to really connect the piece of mindset that thing started to really fall in place and so when I was thinking about what do I want to call this company because everybody wants to be happy but to be happy we must be whole and that choice is up to you because it's that wholeness and the peace of happy whole youth that brings everything together because I can't tell you how many people and I know this from coaching and working with people they're like oh if I just lose the weight or if I just get that relationship or if I just work through this one problem or if I just get pregnant or if I just and what we don't realize is it's not getting that thing it's the process of moving towards that and it's what you're what's happening in the process in your mindset that can change you and shift you for the greater good and happiness is within all of us it's nothing outside of us and so that's where the concept of the name of my brand and my company came into play and then yeah since then it's we have a whole wellness center here in Bakersfield I work with people remotely do biofeedback energy medicine with them naturopathic medicine it's everything under that natural umbrella and I use the body as the really the body tells me what you need so I look at the eyes the tongue the face the ears and find out what are the physical observations that your body has been telling you for a long time but we're not trained anymore in this country how to listen to that and how to so report you with that and so yeah so that's literally every day I get to see people and we get to just change their lives and they get to heal so amazing so empowering I had to shake my head like in this country because I look in so many other countries and I'm like we've been doing this for hundreds of years and it's still working and somehow we're trying to do something totally different that's keeping us sick oh people are more sick now than we've ever been in the more on health care than any other developed world yet we are sicker than we've always been 49 percent of teens and adolescents have a mental health disorder which is actually a brain health disorder 77 percent of adults are either overweight or obese pre-diabetic or diabetic we have one in seven kids with the adhd issues on some type of medication that is altering their brain for a long time so we're not trained to do that we're not trained to do that we're not trained to do that we're not trained to do that when we're putting kids on medications and their brain's not even fully developed again that's what happened to me I was 22 23 years old I spent about 15 minutes with a psychiatrist he put me on three mind-altering medications and I proceeded to go downhill very quickly I kept going back and going back trying to have him recalibrate my medications as if that was the thing that was going to fix me looking back knowing what I know now how in the world is it legal to prescribe medication and not to prescribe medication and not to prescribe medication and not to prescribe medication for an organ system that we've never scanned we've never looked at it's all subjective and it's not even fully developed and we're doing this at an alarming rate with children with women eight women are now on an antidepressant this is craziness this is absolutely insane it makes me there's so many emotions that come up for me it's like sadness it's just it's sick it's sick like we have I'm a huge believer that we have everything we need to heal ourselves but we do have to do the work yep and believe it can happen for us because that's another thing that's a belief right yeah belief is a that's a huge piece of this puzzle because I was exercising I was eating what I thought was healthy pretty healthy but I didn't have my mindset right and it wasn't until I brought in that piece my spirituality and my mindset that healing really truly began and I was able to heal myself and I was able to heal myself and I was able to heal myself yeah because what people don't recognize is the words we speak the thoughts we have a biochemical response in the body this is literally changing your biochemistry from the thoughts you're having and the words that you are speaking so to not pay attention to that and just let your mind run amok and you know have all these intrusive thoughts and not get a hold of how we're thinking and speaking about our life we are literally brewing the energy of our lives and we're literally brewing the energy of our lives and we're literally brewing the energy of our lives in the body over months over years over decades and I mean with western medicine let me be very clear when it comes to emergency care western medicine is killing it doing so good but when it comes to preventative care and keeping people well we are failing miserably I think it's 80 to 90 percent of medical schools don't even have nutrition classes anymore I was reading an article the other day in the epic times and it was almost a celebration that they might bring back nutrition classes in medical schools and make it a requirement and it's what is this is insane but if people go back and actually look at the history of how holistic medicine was literally dismantled in our education system purposefully from the petrochemical industry from the rockefellers from the carnegies if they actually look at history facts you will start to recognize the patterns that are taking place and why we are all systematically medicated having multiple surgeries you have an issue go to the doctor they send you to 10 different specialists now you have 10 different doctors that are working on two inches of the body not correlating and responding to each other which is again I feel like what are we doing here so it's like bringing back in terms of what I do is I look at the entire being so we look at you energetically we look at you mentally we look at you physically we look at you spiritually and we see the body is giving us all this information but we're no longer trained on how to read it and so that's where I come in and it's okay I have been diving into finding these ancient wisdom how do we read the body how does the body tell us things what does this mean yeah like people think oh I'm not sleeping well and I'm having acid reflux and my back hurts and my knees hurt and oh it's because I'm getting older it's like we just discount it or like the pain in your neck could that be the case? pain in your neck you blame it on the fact that you're at work all day and you're sitting at a desk but could that pain in the neck be that you're being a pain in the neck for yourself could that pain in the neck be you feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders and again this comes back to our emotions and our thoughts and how we're speaking because I believe that any physical ailment that we have is compounding and stored in the body due to emotional blockages that over time is weakening tissue and so like cleaning up your body and the emotional aspect of us as well you have to take all of that into consideration it all works together it's body mind and soul like energy has to go somewhere energy is energy so looking at energy is energy whether it's inside our body outside of our body like whether it's the tree growing or it's us growing so when you look at it like that's okay so if energy is energy and I am vibing at a certain energetic level am I helping? myself or am I going in the opposite direction but it's easy it's really easy for us to be our own wish critic so what would you say to the people that are tuning in which is so hard to how do I do this the first thing is if you're meeting that with oh it's so hard right there you just said it oh it's so hard so right there you already gave yourself an out to not do the very thing that you need to do because whereas we could look at it is oh I'm self-discovering I'm stepping into the person I'm supposed to be oh this is shifting things inside of me I'm feeling different emotions and we don't correlate it with good or bad it's just what is and so that's the thing is we keep putting a meaning and a label on everything and that meaning that label is either good or bad so if we drop the good or bad and we just say okay this is just what is like when it comes to eating more nutritiously when it comes to moving our body more throughout the day when it comes having positive conversations versus gossiping a lot of times we're like oh it's so hard to eat healthy so when we say that that has a meaning to it whereas if we say oh I'm discovering new foods every day and that's just the mindset and the vocabulary that we're using around that and then there's the the piece of when you do order something that is more nutritious for you and you go to eat it what's the thoughts that you're having when you're eating it are you thinking I'm deprived of oh what am I going to eat later because there's this whole conversation that's happening versus being in the moment with your food giving gratitude it's nourishing your cells it's going in your body it's doing all these biochemical responses that are going to heal you that are going to help you and so it's shifting that mindset is like so much of the puzzle it is it's such an important piece for sure and I was just thinking so last night I went to Utah just opened up.

A professional hockey team this is a big deal for us oh wow we have not had a professional hockey team but funny story they don't even know what to call it yet and games have already started so it's called Utah Hockey Club until we find out a name but anyway my point is I went and my husband and I in the last couple years we really have I've always been healthy and it's easier I shouldn't say I always have it but mostly compared to the average individual I've been a person no one is perfect but. What I've realized is when you're speaking kindly to yourself you feel better obviously we feel better right but when we're putting certain things in our body we also feel better and once you do it for so long yeah your body feels so yucky when you do anything different and so last night we were at the hockey game and we were in this like super fancy suite with all of the things and all the desserts and the all you can eat food and everyone's like pun at their plates and I was like I'm not going to do that I'm not going to do that I'm not going to do that I'm not going to do that I'm not going to do that I was so excited they had like just a steak salad I was like awesome so I ate the steak salad actually ate healthy I didn't have any of the sugar or any of the other things so you one could say yeah you need a really good choice but I ate more of it than I usually would and my body felt so sick the rest of the night and it really dawned on me the importance like for there was like this part of me that was full of self-love for the way I treat myself I was like you over ate tonight that steak salad was good you were not used to eating like this like the plate was just big and I just kept going but it really did give me like a perspective of it's so much better to do the things that help you feel better period but so often we like to attach like you said attach some negative meaning to it that just like works it all works against itself yeah yeah and then you make it negative and then it's not so right when really it's just your body gave you biofeedback that was a little too much and then we should be like wow thank you body thank you for that information and then you get to choose to do what you'd like with that information so if we started to recognize that our body is this super smart computer that is constantly giving us feedback and we get to do something with that feedback the challenging part is people aren't paying attention to the little bits of feedback or they're like oh feedback fear I'm gonna make a decision on my health based out of fear and then they go and they trust the first physician or the first person they go to and what they say is the almighty because that's what I used to think too and we're not trained anymore or we're not encouraged anymore to ask why yeah okay this is how I'm feeling and then there's a I recommend you do this or I always say I recommend maybe you try these things or I've had doctors tell me you need to take this you need to take that and that's okay so if you go in and these are the way this is how I'm feeling this is what's happening with me there should be a recommendation but even before that recommendation like my initial session with someone is two hours because I have thousands of questions I literally have so many questions and it's if you're having issues with your mindset you're going to have a lot of questions and you're going to have a lot of or your health and you go to any professional there should be so much listening and then there should be so many questions right and I think that's what we're missing we're making decisions on our health based out of fear we're not asking enough questions our providers are not asking enough questions and this becomes problematic because we're missing things because we are such beings and I always remind people to like when we talk about like the energy part of it if we literally go inside every single cell until we can't go any further the only thing that's left is energy so to not address the energetics of the human body in the human biofield we are missing a whole aspect of healing a whole aspect of healing because we're literally more energetic than we are right now we're missing a whole aspect of healing because we're literally more energetic physical matter but we think I can't touch it I can't see it so is that even real how does your cell phone work like we're not losing faith in our cell phones but yeah we're like not trusting in the energetics of the body or even recognizing that they're there like that's craziness it's craziness yes I absolutely love that analogy that comparison yeah you kind of perked you like oh yeah right how are you and I even know how it works yeah and now it used to make sense like when back in the day when there was like a cord and we imagined that the cords go everywhere and whatever we could like make sense of that but now we're on the other side of the world calling across oceans and we can just do it you know what I'm gonna my friend there was this 25 minutes I guess you'd call it like a little documentary on Netflix she messaged me and she's hey watch this and I was like okay gosh what is it called anyways it was 25 minutes and it was such a powerful piece around how one decision we make and then the support it's called the turnaround on Netflix I started watching it and I was like the first five to eight minutes it's 25 minutes I was oh my brain is like squirreled there's so many other things I could be doing right now but I'm like no stay to the end of this because like my friend who is an incredible genius of a woman was like you need to watch this whole thing and you watch it till the end and what you realize is there was one person who was going to give up on his life and that I could relate to on so many like when you're down in your darkest moments you're like would anyone even know if I just was gone and then you think no one would really care and there's a very dark place to be I have been there in my life I'm so far removed from that now and I'm so grateful that I look back at that person I used to be and I'm like oh my god I'm so grateful that I'm so being I'm like I can't even believe that I was there but in this documentary this guy was there and what happened was he chose to stay on this earth and he chose to make a post about a baseball player who was struggling and it shows you the power of how energy and support can change the trajectory of not just one person's life but influence thousands and millions of people and it's one decision you made one decision so people don't even recognize the power that they harness within them and they don't recognize that because maybe you're not seeing the person that you lifted up and then that helped them get to the next point in their life and then it helped them make the next better decision and the next better decision and then it helped their children and then there's this ripple effect that we have in the world and people are discounting how powerful their actions are a single word is a single thought is and it's like we need to not dismiss the power of every single one of us because it is amazing so the turnaround I recommend everyone take the 25 minutes stay with it and I was literally crying at the end I'm like oh my gosh this is so amazing it was just beautiful so amazing 25 minutes the turnaround Netflix we all have like that kind of time just don't scroll part of your time 100% yeah hey so let's shift gears just a little bit and talk about you stepping fully your business and what that ended up looking like since the last time we talked when you were trying to find an exit strategy how you grew from that just what your experience was ultimately on this podcast I always want everyone to come on they're always incredible humans all you guys are awesome and have so much to share and I always hope and pray that our stories and everything that we do will help anyone that's listening step even a little bit deeper into their power and know that okay if she can I can if she was able to go all in on whatever it was that I can just those stories are so helpful so walk us through your journey the last time we were on together until yeah so I'll back up to when I was 32 years old I applied for this job within this organization that I was with and I was a student at the university and I was a student at the I thought if I get this job I will retire there this is my dream job I remember I went out and spent 180 dollars on a dress at black house white market because this was a lot that was a lot of money still is a lot of money for a dress for an interview and I remember I walked in the interview and I got pressed juices I'm like I'm gonna make it like I wanted this job so bad and went through the interview I thought it went well and I was like I'm gonna make it I'm gonna make it I'm gonna call me back for another interview and then when they call me back the next time it was about to be my boss and he calls me back says oh why you come in one last time and I was like at this point I'm like y'all are messing with me I'm like are you gonna hire I pretty much was like all right you're killing me now are you gonna hire me my heart was so set on this and he started laughing yeah come on in and so I got this job I was able to create a wellness program for the largest high school district in the state of California from scratch whatever my heart desired and it was the most incredible thing I got to build and here's the thing I was there for eight years about six years into this I started to have this tug because I started to do even more of a deep dive of coaching and energy medicine and learning all these things and one of the things that I wanted to do when I came into that interview I remember one of the questions they asked me they said what do you see like in five years what would you want to create and I wanted to create this wellness center a place that all of these employees could go and they could get any acute care service wellness like combining eastern and western and I remember that they looked at me and they started laughing they're like okay slow down like it takes a lot to move this big ship around and I just knew in my head this is what's going to happen. Sure enough, it was conversation started and it was right before COVID and we were putting this together to have an acute care center that it would cost zero dollars to all of the employees and their dependents on their insurance. And then secondly, you're not going to wait longer than seven minutes to get in and you can get blood work there and all the things.

But what was happening was the wellness piece, the true wellness of what I believe wellness is, non-medical, preventative, was pushed to the side. So I was like, oh, we're going to create this acute care center because there was like a $52 million expenditure on health care every year and that's taxpayer money because it's a school district. And I'm like, but wait a minute. I was still doing all the wellness stuff at different sites and doing all that.

So that was being pushed to the side and there was this yearning in me that was like, you have to do this. You have to go out and do this. You have to do this in a different way. But then I'm like, oh my gosh, how am I going to do this?

Because I have health insurance, retirement. I provided the health insurance for my family. I had longevity there. I had over a six-figure salary there.

I had decent work hours. Just we tell ourselves these stories and we check all the boxes. And so then we stay and we think staying safer, but really it's costing us. It's costing us everything.

And finally, when COVID hit and some different things happened, I told myself, when you turn 40 years old, you are out. There are no more excuses. You are moving into this. You are going to do this.

And I'm telling you, I felt paralyzed to make that decision. And I think part of it was like, like my self-worth. Who am I without this big title and this big responsibility and this big job? What if somebody comes in?

And does it better than me? And they'll realize I was never good enough for the job to begin with that imposter syndrome. Or what if they just drop this program and I created this whole thing and then it's going to be gone because these things happen. You can build stuff in the public sector and then it's like, there you go.

It's gone the next year. Something new and shiny and brighter is coming. So I went through this whole cascade of emotions. And what was interesting is I started to get ill.

I started to get sick. So the last. About nine months before I really like I left, I was starting to have issues with my hip and your hip has everything to do with not stepping forward in your life with what you need to be doing. I was having different blood markers of autoimmune coming up and I was under a lot of stress.

It was like my body was saying, get out of here. What are you doing? And I was trying not to listen to it with everything I know and how I work with people. I was literally, nope.

You know, let's say this. You know, listen to this. And then it was like, it just became so loud and so clear in my physical body and in my head and in my heart that I asked myself one question and that changed everything. If you're 80 years old, will you regret staying or will you regret leaving?

Mic drop done. I walked. My hip got better. My blood markers started to improve.

I had so much energy. The weight. The weight like literally came off my shoulders and I was a hundred percent into my business. I replaced my income within two years.

I replaced my six figure income 10 times. And then time let's just pause for a second. Like I replaced my six figure income in 90 days. In 90 days, you replaced what you were holding on to.

Yeah. You look, it is so crazy, but you look at this. I mean, I'm just looking at your story and I'm like, okay. All of the things that we tell.

We tell ourselves like you had a six figure income, especially as a female, like a lot of women dream. Don't think they're even worthy of that. And it was your dream job and wash hours that you could work around your kids schedules. Like most women would never dare leave something like that.

And then we tell ourselves a story like it was my dream job. So then there's that guilt. Will this come along again? Who do you think you are to walk away from that?

Not to mention I have a holistic wellness center. And I'm very concerned. I'm a conservative town and city, and this is the things people would tell me too. So not only was I thinking this, but a lot of this was what people were telling me.

And I think, honestly, I don't think I was really thinking this part first. It was people imprinting their fears onto me. And I've been, oh yeah. Like, you know, when people like, we all do that.

Yes. A hundred percent. All the time. And so then other people's narratives of fear collapse, like on top of our fear.

And then we think. Think how in the world would I even be able to do this when we just have to leap and jump and trust and yeah, be strategic with it. Like I was, I've been always very responsible in my life. And then I think if anything, this would maybe seem like, what are you doing?

But it was like, I was so clear on how I know I can show up in the world and help people. And I was so clear on the vision that I have for my company and for myself that it was like, nobody else got to have any opinion on it once I made the choice. And that's the thing that we have to make the decision and we have to step into it like full force. I think the thing that you're also saying that you're not saying that's totally there is when you came into alignment and you moved from self-trust, like you trusted in yourself at the deepest level, nothing else matters.

So of course you make a choice, right? But it goes even deeper than that because you were fully trusting. In you and in your capabilities, you're like, okay, no, I have this vision. And now I want to go all the way back when you were in your twenties and you got that doctor and he gave you all of the medication, which then took you into that period of time.

You were sick. Yeah. I would argue that experience what happened because of that experience, you on a journey, not just for yourself initially is for yourself. Cause you're, you're asking yourself all these questions.

You're like, what's going on with me? This can't be right. There's gotta be a better way. You went and found a better way.

And the more you've leaned that the more you've been able to help more people. Yeah. A hundred percent. Which is incredible.

Like that journey, like you had to meet the doctor to tell you the things so that your mission could start unfolding. Yeah. And I truly believe that when we come, to embodiment, we come here with a mission, but then it gets programmed out of us. I love how you recognize that.

And then if I even go deeper, right? Like you, you and I both were like, okay, then what's under that knowing what I know now and where I'm at and how I look at back then, my body was telling me that I was out of alignment when we get sick, when we feel stuck, that's because we're out of alignment. And why was I out of alignment? I was out of alignment because what I truly wanted in my life.

Was to go to medical school and be a medical family practitioner doctor. However, I didn't come from a family with money. I came from parents, a dad that didn't graduate high school and a mom that was pregnant at 17. And I was told when you graduate high school, you can go to college, but you're going to pay for it yourself.

Or if you're going to live in the South, you pay us a hundred dollars a week in rent. So I knew, okay, I need to go to college, but I also had to work and I didn't have a lot of money. And then I find out, oh, then you go to medical school and you have residency. So it was like, this is going to cost me a hundred, 200 and some thousand dollars.

My brain could not compute that much money. And I'm like, that's not available to me. So my dad told me, oh, just go to school, be a teacher. So that's how I even got an education because safe, it's easy, all the things.

So then I started to convince myself that was the route I needed to take. And the reason that I was so sick is because when, when I graduated university and I went and took a job as a teacher to begin, I was never in alignment. My body was saying, go back to school. You can do this.

I was not willing to listen because that was going to be way too much money. There's no way I could even do that. And so it's funny how we get to go through these challenges, but our purpose will always come back into alignment for us because then where I'm at now, it brought me back to my goal. To helping people heal in a way, what I desired from when I was younger.

And it's, I'm so glad it's in this way because I would have probably been brainwashed into the other way. And obviously my life couldn't have happened any other way than how it's happened this far. But I do think everything happens for a reason. And I think that God, the universe allows these opportunities to where you have a fork in the road and he'll allow you to take either way.

Okay. And eventually he knows he's going to get you to where you're supposed to do the thing you came here to do. So that's the power of our choice and free will. But eventually the service that we're here to make, we will all get back to it.

It's just how soon and are you paying attention and can you get there sooner than later? I love, and I say this a lot on the podcast, but we all are so unique. And it's the most beautiful thing. Even you and I have so many.

We have so many commonalities of the things that we have to do, the people we serve, how we want to treat our bodies, all that. And the fact that we're entrepreneurs, females, we're moms, we can say like all these things that we have common. Sure. But then also like the way you're going to be able to serve is going to be so different than what I'm doing, but they're both still beautiful.

So let me lean into that self-trust like you did. Yeah. We can talk about the income increasing, but also think about the impact that you're not able to have. Yeah.

Your income will increase when you're doing what you're supposed to be doing. You will be taken care of. I come from a mindset of lack. I come from a mindset of scarcity.

Knowing what I know now and shifting from that mindset of lack and scarcity to shifting into the abundant mindset and trusting and going in, there's no way you couldn't be taken care of. And I do think it's be strategic and leverage where you're at for sure. But when you step into your unique self to do the very thing that you know your soul is calling that you're supposed to be doing, you will be taken care of. And I think so often we don't listen to that.

We listen to logic. We listen to all the other things. And that really hurts us from a spiritual level, from a physical level, from a mental level. Like all of it.

But yeah, you got to trust and you're supposed to be different. None of us are supposed to do the same thing. We're all supposed to do things uniquely different in our own way. And that's the beautiful thing.

I've had people ask me, they're like, Anna Marie, who's your competition in town? And I like laugh at this. Zero. Like there is no competition.

Like there is zero competition for any of us when we step into our unique, authentic self. Because nobody is going to do it the way you do it. And you're going to be, some people are going to be for it. And some people are going to be like, oh, that's not for me.

And that's okay too, because not everyone is for everyone, but it's your unique way. And it's okay. I invite, let's have a hundred wellness places show up in Bakersfield, California. Let's have hundreds of them in every town across America.

I'll still be just fine. And it'd be great. And there's room. There's always room for everyone at the top.

As I like to say, there's never too many coaches. There's never too many doctors. Let's say we all have these different ways that we can serve. And when we think of it as there's always enough, then you're actually just going to create more of it.

More of enough. It's you get to whatever it is, it's not yourself. So good. Okay.

So in wrapping up, thanks for everything that you've shared with us so far. What is just a little nugget of want to leave with our audience before we, say goodbye? Oh gosh. I think it's ultimately pay attention to the meaning you're giving everything.

Because it's like, if you took the meaning away from it and just looked at what is, what decision would you make? Because when you take away the meaning, when you take away the emotion, you can actually use your logical brain, your prefrontal cortex, which is going to give you more executive function thinking. And then if you're doing that, and you're keeping your future self in mind, when it comes to all the decisions you're making, like all the decisions on your health, on your finances, on your relationships, if you can envision a future of yourself, the future self that you truly desire, if you always keep that in the forefront of your mind, it makes every decision you make so much easier. Cause it's like, it's a yes or no.

Is this in alignment with who I'm becoming and who I know I need to be? Yes or no. And then from there, it's okay. And again, take the emotion out of it.

And it's a yes or a no. Take the meaning out of it. Yes or no. And it really helps you get clarity.

And for all of us, people pleasers, I know you're a recovering people pleaser. It really helps us gain clarity to say what I can't do that. That doesn't fill in alignment with me. Like I literally had a really good friend of mine who owns a restaurant down the street.

And I said to her, cause I was walking back to the center from the place I work out at. I'm like, there are so many cute little places downtown. I'm like, somebody should go downtown and just do little videos highlighting all the cool little places downtown. And she's like, let's do it.

Like, let's do it. And we can meet once a week and highlight a place. And I was like, I love you, but like, I don't have space in my life for that right now. That's an idea I have, but it's, and it's, and I could do it and I could be good at it.

But again, just cause we're good at something, just cause we could do something doesn't mean that we should do it. Because again, is that in alignment? Is that in alignment with our future self? And if it's not, the answer is no.

Oh, I'm glad I asked that question. That was so good. I love that. I love the way you frame the things you frame.

You do such a good job with that. Just even reminding myself, is this in alignment with my future self who I am consistently becoming and I'm becoming her today. Every day we're stepping deeper into who our soul wants us to become and be. Yay.

Okay. Last question for you. Where's the best place for everyone to get ahold of you and have more of you in life? Ooh, I just created a new Instagram page personally, dr.
